hello there folks.

i hope you are all as excited about thanksgiving as i am! there really is nothing better on earth than my mother’s stuffing, my sister sandra’s pecan pie, my sister jill’s cranberry salad, my sister janet’s sweet potatoes or my sister in law judy’s corn souffle. also, my sister marcia is in from denver colorado and although she isn’t making any dishes tomorrow, she brought the worlds best toffee in with her. it is so damn yummy! apparently thanksgiving is strictly only about the food and jeez…could i have any more sisters? i can’t freaking wait until tomorrow!!!

even though most of us look forward to thanksgiving for the feasting that happens with friends and family, it is a holiday where we give thanks and in honor of that, i am giving thanks to my loyal customers by offering a 20% off sale off of everything in my online shop. yes…everything! the sale begins tonight at 8pm and continues through monday evening (cyber monday as we e-commerce folks like to refer to it).

i think i am just now regrouping from my whirlwind weekend selling at crafty bastards in washington dc on saturday and speaking with the baltimore modern quilt guild on sunday. both events went smashingly well and i met a ton of really kind and supportive people. i hope all of you who bought my stuff find much enjoyment in them!

i wanted to let all of my philly peeps know that i will be selling my goods at a trunk show this coming saturday at artstar gallery and boutique in northern liberties. the trunk show will be in celebration of the launch of my line being carried there. i hope to see you there, but if not…no worries! even if you can’t make it to the trunk show this saturday, you can stop by artstar anytime and check out my stuff. i will have plenty of scarves and such for the holiday season.

no, i wasn’t being self-deprecating or anything dramatic like that, i just wanted to grab your attention about an awesome show i am selling my goods at tomorrow. for those of you in the washington dc area, i will be at the crafty bastards arts and crafts fair!

this is absolutely one of the best indie craft shows in the country and it is the show for me that officially kicks off the holiday shopping season and i am well prepared with all sorts of goodies! in addition to my usual popular items, i will be showing my new line of socks, geneva scarves and, before they have even been posted in my online store, a new group of skirts called the dresden skirt featuring fabric from my habitat line of fabric. so…come on out and say hi and show your support for some really amazing small creative businiesses!

a one way ticket to geneva please.

hello there folks.

happy voting day! i hope you are all exercising your right as an american citizen and voting today! for those of you who will be waiting in those long lines outside in the cold up here in the northeast, i wish i planned the release of these new geneva scarves in advance. you could have been the most fashionable voters at the polls! i guess i will have to start planning the release some more super fun scarves for 4 years from now!

it couldn’t be better timing to have new geneva scarves in my online shop just in time for this chilly weather. also just in time for the upcoming holiday gift giving season. um…hello…there are only 48 days until christmas. can you believe it? where does the time go? these scarves are such a hit that we just whipped up a big ol’ batch of ’em in 13 new color combos to be sure we are well stocked for the coming weeks.

sock of the month club.

hello there folks.

i must start off by saying that my sincerest thoughts go out to all of those who were affected by hurricane sandy this past weekend. it was indeed a stressful few days here in the northeast and although i was fortunate enough to not have any major damage or power lost, i know many were not so lucky. i hope we can recover from this quickly and thoughtfully. there’s one thing i do know and it’s that the sun will indeed shine again on these amazing places that were devastated.

on to other news…

i have been totally overjoyed with the tremendously positive feedback i am getting from those of you who have ordered from my new line of socks. you like them…you really like them! it seems people are really loving ordering multiple pairs and why not? they are all so darn fun! so…i got to thinking about how you can share the love with these socks and i think i came up with a pretty clever idea.

the sock of the month club!

it’s like receiving a bouquet of flowers every month but without the “flowers that get that slimy stinky glop in the vase because you forgot about them and now they are rotting and you have to throw away not only the flowers but the vase as well and then have to repeat those actions every month” part. instead, you receive a pair of super fun socks designed by yours truly every month for a whole year!

now you can go to my online shop and hand select 12 different pairs of socks to send to your friends and family or heck…even yourself. well, thats what i would do :)! it really is such a unique holiday gift idea, if i must say so myself!
